🛠 Step-by-Step Instructions (For Any Shape)

✅ Step 1: Mark Out Your Shape

Use a hose, string, or marking spray to outline your design. Natural shapes like bean, wave, or spiral work well. Measure the full perimeter to calculate brick needs.

✅ Step 2: Excavate for the Border

  • Dig a trench along the marked line: 10–15 cm deep, 20 cm wide

  • Add a 5 cm layer of gravel or limestone screening

  • Compact firmly for stability

✅ Step 3: Lay the Pavers

  • Set the bricks edge-to-edge, following the shape

  • Leave a 1 cm gap between each for curve flexibility

  • Tap lightly with a rubber mallet to level

  • Cut or angle bricks for tight curves if needed

✅ Step 4: Add Support (Optional)

  • Use landscape adhesive to bond bricks

  • Or sweep in polymeric sand for extra tightness

✅ Step 5: Line and Fill

  • Lay landscape fabric to prevent weeds

  • Fill with topsoil to 25–30 cm depth, sloped for drainage

  • Ready for planting!

💡 Extra Tips

  • For smoother curves, use shorter bricks (30 cm) with minimal spacing

  • Don’t skip the gravel base – it prevents settling over time

  • Consider stacking two brick layers for raised beds over 25 cm high

  • Add compost or mulch on top for improved nutrients and appearance
